CASE STUDY INDEX
Client Need:
Designers for this new medical facility needed a fountain builder who could work with them to create eye-catching water features that remained within their budget.

Solution:
Colorado Hardscapes' team has extensive experience working with designers to value engineer fountains and water features and we were able to build the fountain as designed with few modifications for budget. Three separate concrete water features designed and built by CHI enhance the landscape: an architectural/natural fountain graces the front, a caltite runnel feature and a naturalistic stream.

Results:
The architectural/natural fountain has concrete serpentine walls running along the front. A concrete shell sits behind and holds the naturalistic pond with fountain jets. The runnel element features a more than 200 foot-long, white concrete runnel along the path to the entrance. Perpendicular from this runnel is a 100 foot-long runnel. Because no caps were wanted along the runnel, a liner could not be used as it would be exposed on top of the feature requiring caps. CHI designed a concrete structure with a decorative Sandscape Texture™ finish using the water-proof element caltite so that a liner was unnecessary. A naturalistic stream with a concrete shell appears to flow from the runnel, although the mechanical systems are actually separate. Rocks were carefully placed throughout the winding stream bed to flow throughout the landscape.
