Client Need:
These luxury condominiums needed a roof top pool deck to sit five stories above the city. Quality befitting the opulent building could not be sacrificed because of the difficult location. In addition, the pool deck concrete needed to be poured over 6' wide structural slab panels. The designers also wanted interior lobby floors with the look of slate.
Solution:
All of the materials were hoisted up from the parking lot below and all concrete was pumped using a 56 meter pump truck. A 7" slab was poured over the 6' wide structural slab panels and our crews made sure a cold joint or saw cut joint mirrored the panel breaks below. The lobby floors were topped with an imprinted concrete overlay.
Results:
Altogether 3,850 square feet of Bomanite® imprinted concrete was installed for the pool deck in an English Slate texture with Colorado Buff color hardener and Northern Brown release agent. The two concrete lobby floors needed the same opulent look as the pool deck. Bomanite Thin-Set in an English Slate Texture, Cobblestone Gray color with saw-cuts was used to replicate a black slate.
Awards:
