CASE STUDY INDEX
Client Need:
Carma Development and Design Studios West were looking for a hardscape solution that would fit Solterra’s Tuscan themed clubhouse and would be functional for each area of this upscale development, including the main drop off area, the pool deck, and the patios. The final look needed to be spectacular yet fit within budget.

Solution:
Colorado Hardscapes used two different products to achieve this look: Bomanite® imprinted and colored concrete and an integral color swirl finish. The main drop off, the entry area, and the focal walkway leading to the pool utilized the Bomanite® Roman Stone pattern. The stones in this pattern were then grouted in the pedestrian areas and stained to look like grout in the vehicular areas. The integral color swirl finish completed the unique design with bands used to separate the different areas and to bring an extensive amount of detail to the patios. Only the field areas of these monolithic pours received a stained finish giving it a different color than the bands. This method kept the project within the budget while achieving the desired Tuscan look.

Other unique details to this project include the bull nose steps that coordinated with the bull nose pool coping. Both entries were sandblasted and stained to etch a quote from Michelangelo into the concrete. The column bases in the amphitheater and the giant planter caps were poured in place to match the precast finish on the walls.

Results:
The results were more than stunning for Solterra’s 2008 Parade of Homes clubhouse. This clubhouse set the tone for the eight beautiful homes that were showcased this year.
