Client Need:
The flooring and arena seating in the new Edith Kinney Gaylord Cornerstone Arts Center at Colorado College demanded a unique look to complement their setting.
Solution:
Colorado Hardscapes’ specialized concrete staining division worked closely with the architects, general contractor, and owner, to give them the look they needed.
Results:
Extensive shop and on-site sampling, strict adherence to LEED specifications, significant grinding of existing vertical and horizontal concrete, and precise application to ensure stain reception and depth, all flowed together to make this yet another work of art within a building that promotes art. Two different reactive concrete stains, each strategically placed throughout the building, and LEED approved sealant and wax products produced the desired look that enhanced the cantilevered effect of this modern building.
With the adherence to a proper maintenance schedule that Colorado College is known for, these concrete surfaces will enhance their surroundings for many years to come.
