Client Need:
Value engineering, city budget modifications, and a variety of material options evolved into a hardscape work of art in this burgeoning Northern Colorado city. Colorado Hardscapes worked closely with landscape architect, James Ramos, of Nuszer Kopatz and the City of Lafayette on a conceptual vision to turn a half city block into a festival plaza that residents and visitors alike would be drawn to.
Solution:
Golden Triangle was selected as the general contractor and a few more revisions took place to obtain the best overall appearance.
Results:
The final product included several concrete paving statements – creatively placed Colorado Red Sandstone, Red Clay and Capitol Hill Sandscape® textured concrete and colored broom-finished concrete, all worked into and around circular patterns, tent piers, and a water feature. The plaza is aptly named; the inviting seat walls, the simple awning, and the variety and shape of the paving surfaces combine to create an atmosphere of festivity.
