Client Need:
The owner desired a special mix of decorative hardscape finishes and water features that would create an upscale and relaxing environment for this new destination shopping center - and it had to be done in a challenging construction schedule.

Solution:
CHI provided a successful team to place over 200,000 square feet of high-quality decorative paving on an accelerated schedule to ensure on-time opening of the center. Yosemite Brown broom finish concrete, Sandy Pebble Sandscape Texture™, intricate saw-cut patterns, and decorative bands tie the site together and harmonize with the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired architecture of the shops. In addition, the CHI crews installed over two miles of lineal feet of planter wall, which now showcase mini-gardens throughout the property.

CHI's water feature division delivered a complex and captivating pop-jet water feature as well as two custom water walls that provide seating and visually stimulating water features.

Results:
CHI's work at Orchard Town Center has resulted in a landscape that invites shoppers to come and stay for a while. The youngest visitors to this new center will be sure to find the pop-jet water fountain in the main plaza one of their favorite destinations on hot summer days. With its leaping jets and randomly firing pop-jets, this water feature is a main attraction and offers lots of wet fun. Visitors can also find a place to sit and relax to the sound of splashing water flowing out of the water walls. While strolling through the streets of The Orchards, the attention to detail in the Capitol Hill Sandscape Texture™ planters and the quality of the concrete paving underfoot reinforce to every visitor that this is not just another mall, but a shopping experience.
