Client Need:
Rather than a traditional indoor mall, the owner wanted to create a retail area with a downtown plaza feeling with shops and restaurants bordering beautiful walkways and fountains. Multiple paving finishes were specified and needed to be created for interesting pedestrian walkways for an open-air retail environment. The project was especially time sensitive because it needed to open on time for the holiday shopping season of 2003.
Solution:
Colorado Hardscapes was able to do all of the paving to the specifications as well as the fountains and rock feature so that the developers only needed to work with one concrete contractor for all of these amenities.
Results:
12,590 square feet of Ashlar Slate pattern was chosen and a special color hardener blend was developed to coordinate with the adjoining finishes of the colored concrete, interlocking pavers, and natural stone walls and water features. Colorado Hardscapes completed the outdoor package for the general contractor when we did the water features around the Bomanite® including three pre-cast fountains and a custom rock fountain. Colorado Hardscapes also finished on time and on budget for the opening in August 2003.
