Client Need:
The client was building a new grocery store and wanted a product on the floors that would be low maintenance and very durable. After developing samples and looking over various options, the client choose a polished floor with an integral color mixed in.
Solution:
The new space had CMU block around the perimeter, therefore this space was perfect for a wet polish method. This method uses a Wet Vac and Auto Scrubber and is much quicker than the typical dry polish method. During the wet polishing, a brown integral color was added, to add to the look of the natural grocery store.
When viewing the photos, you can see a high reflectance value. This is what the client was hoping to have and this was accomplished by using an 800 grid for the polishing. Hardener with densifier was added during the 2nd to last step in the polishing process. All of these steps and individual proccesses helped reach the overall goal- a low maintenance and very durable floor.
Results:
The client was very happy with the end result and was impressed with the color of the floor that truly enhanced the feel of the Natural Grocery store. The price of the floor was excellent in comparison to other options he could have used.
