Denver, CO - Vince Van Heukelem began as the CEO of Colorado Hardscapes, Inc. on April 1, 2003. Vince was welcomed at a party in his honor on March 31, 2003. His father, Calvin Van Heukelem, passed the title to his son on this occasion after holding the title himself since Colorado Hardscapes incorporation in 1978.
Wendell Van Heukelem, Calvin's father, began the company with one truck servicing the Denver Metro area in 1947. Calvin worked with his father and eventually took over Van Heukelem Concrete as it was then called. Calvin expanded the company into Colorado's leading concrete contractor with seven divisions of concrete including architectural concrete paving, premium floors, decorative walls, and custom rock as well as a full service standard concrete division. Under Calvin's direction Colorado Hardscapes now boasts Colorado's only Concrete Design Center at 8085 E. Harvard Ave., Denver.
Calvin Van Heukelem will retain ownership of Colorado Hardscapes and remains chairman of the board for the present. His role is still being determined by the needs of Colorado Hardscapes.
Vince Van Heukelem grew up in the business and has always had an interest in creating beautiful yet functional construction projects. He studied Civil Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer. His goals are to make the company more designer friendly and for Colorado Hardscapes to continue to be the company that sets the standards on high quality decorative concrete.
