Adams County Veterans Memorial

The Adams County Veterans Memorial is a touching tribute to the county’s veterans and their families. We helped create a variety of its monuments including the recreation of the USS Colorado battleship. Overall, this project presented a unique experience for us. We are honored to have played a key part in its construction.

DHM Design, ECI Site Management, and various people at Adams County selected us, to help choose ideal colors and finishes.

The project scope includes almost every finish we have including, 6,000 SF of Bomanite imprinted concrete decking, 20,000 SF of colored Sandscape finished walks, and 3,000 SF of Sandscape Refined with mirror glass. Additionally, we added 1,100 LF of curb and gutter, 700 LF of board form walls, and 150 LF of smooth-troweled seat walls throughout the site.

Moreover, the entry map feature includes Sandscape paving and stainless steel embed plates. The MicroTop highlights the county borders and the highways, and blue Lithomosaic tiles that identify rivers throughout the county.

Through research and development, our team, led by Jeremy Lefever, Nick Federico, and Ramon Torres, utilized a new form liner method. Collaborating with Scott System, we produced a 230 SF photo mural on a curved concrete “Story Wall.” Scott System was a tremendous resource in devising the creative means and methods to make this vision a reality.

The grand opening of the memorial took place on Memorial Day, 2023. It was a momentous occasion, allowing the public to see the impressive creation. We believe that the Adams County Veterans Memorial represents the very best of craftsmanship, creativity, and community and will remain a lasting tribute that will continue to inspire visitors for generations to come.
