Lone Rock Retreat

Lone Rock Foundation is the non-profit organization behind the new, Lone Rock Retreat in Bailey, Colorado. This educational resort was designed for deserving educators across America to reflect, reconnect and reenergize. A combination of educational training facilities, wellness center, lodge, and cabins sit on the 7-acre campus.

Working with Hyder Construction, OZ Architecture, and Confluence, Colorado Hardscapes originally joined the project as the rammed-earth builder. Over time, we earned continued trust across an ever-expanding package of scopes as the project unfolded. Eventually, almost 50 Colorado Hardscapes employees would take part in installing walls, flatwork, pools, floors, staining, and caulking.

Altogether, we placed 5,645 SF of Sandscape, our premium sand-finish concrete, a stained labyrinth, and an 8 ft tall, specialized board-formed wall. We also placed 1,458 SF of deep-grind polished concrete floors, 3 spas, and a plunge pool. Finally, at nearly 20,000 SF Lone Rock is now home to the largest rammed earth project in Colorado.

The Lone Rock Retreat is a career milestone for all involved and highly significant to our team. More importantly, Lone Rock will be a life-changing experience in the lives of generations of teachers who will go on to enrich the education of children across America.
