What Did 2020 Look Like at Colorado Hardscapes?

It goes without saying that 2020 has been a strange year to navigate.

Despite the obstacles, we are thankful for everything that went well; some of which include, expanding into our new Swimming Pools Division, developing new Rammed Earth projects, and the tenacity of our employees.

We would also like to thank all of our vendors and partners for your dedication and flexibility. We would not have seen such success this year without your support. Moreover, thank you to our clients for the opportunities you have given us. There’s nothing more gratifying than helping you with your specifications and designs. By taking your passion and creativity, and turning it into reality, we have produced many memorable projects in 2020.

Consequently, we created this list to review some of our favorite 2020 projects.

1. Founders Plaza – Sedimentary Walls

The city of Brighton decided to replace the buildings at Bridge Street and Main Street with this safe, pedestrian-friendly, urban park. Founders Plaza incorporates sedimentary walls, board form walls, smooth troweled planter walls, seat walls of varying widths and heights, splash edging, and planter curbs.

2. Southlands Mall – Popjet Feature

Originally constructed by us 15 years ago, the client knew we would be the perfect fit when they wanted to renovate the space. This new feature is the main spectacle of Southlands Mall. It includes top-of-the-line equipment and finishes including the mechanical equipment, nozzles, and lights.

3. Charles SchwabBomanite Imprinted Concrete

Located at Park Meadows Blvd. and Sky Ridge Ave. in LoneTree, we installed Bomanite imprinted concrete, specified for the main entry into the building and surrounding drive areas. The saw-cut joints in the Sandscape match the interior tile layout for a continuous flow.

4. Chroma ApartmentsSandscape Pool Deck and Coping

Integrally colored Sandscape was the choice product for this pool deck and coping. We also constructed Highland Ranch’s Central Park Plaza and water feature two years prior to this project’s installation. You can spot the plaza in the distance of the above photo. These apartments never looked better next to three Colorado Hardscapes projects.

5. Denver Zoo Stingray ExhibitPool and Rockwork

In collaboration with the nation’s leading Stingray expert, Living Exhibits, we had the pleasure of working on Denver Zoo’s new stingray exhibit. This exhibit includes a prefilter system, charcoal filter system, and protein filter system in addition to a UV sanitizer, heater, and chiller.
