Sandblasted Concrete Shadows Make an Impression

Sandblasted Concrete look like tree shadows on form finished wall.

SIMPLE, CREATIVE IMPRESSIONS WITH SANDBLASTED CONCRETE ADD LIFE TO FORM-FINISHED SURFACES.

While the design is approachable from many perspectives, simplicity always has its place. Big or small, difficult or easy, when clients need decorative concrete solutions, Colorado Hardscapes takes pride in being a “We will make-it-happen” service provider. This specific project was an affordable, multifamily housing project for the Denver Housing Authority designed by Shears Adkins + Rockmore. Utilizing sandblasted concrete, it was planned to incorporate a simple tree shadow on a prominent concrete wall and the general contractor, Milender White, knew who to call.

Using the designer’s template, we sandblasted the shadow onto the wall after forming was complete. To make the shadow look even more realistic we subtly tinted it by hand to reveal contrast and depth. Simple but elegant, this technique adds lifelike detail to form-finished concrete that feels special for a minimal investment.

Colorado Hardscapes is here to help with any sandblasted concrete needs, one client, and one project at a time. If you would like to see other projects that incorporated sandblasting or even engraving look here.
